Non-Cash Donations: Stocks, Bonds & Mutual Funds

Your gift will support the work of Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue (SYCR) by providing sanctuary for chimpanzee orphans in Cameroon, while spearheading and supporting habitat protection, law enforcement and conservation education.
Gifts of Stock
A gift of appreciated securities – including stock, bonds and mutual funds – directly to SYCR provides significant tax benefits, including a charitable deduction for the full market value and avoidance of capital gains taxes that would normally be due upon sale. By avoiding capital gains tax, you are essentially donating 20% more.
Giving directly from your IRA can be one of the most tax advantaged means of charitable giving. If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free distribution from your traditional or Roth IRA to SYCR and donate up to $100,000 each year without incurring income tax on your withdrawal. In addition, the distributions may help satisfy a donor’s required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
Gifts of Real Estate
Donating real estate to SYCR allows you to leverage one of your most valuable investments to achieve maximum impact for orphaned chimpanzees like Dorothy. By donating approved real estate – urban, rural, developed, undeveloped, residential, or commercial – you can reduce or potentially eliminate capital gains tax and receive a fair market value tax deduction.
